1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DesiSphere ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
DesiSphere is a community platform that connects members of the South Asian community with local housing, restaurants, services, and events. We provide tools to browse, post, and interact with listings. DesiSphere does not directly provide any of the listed services or housing. Some listings may have time-limited visibility based on your account's listing plan; you can keep a listing active by editing or re-posting it.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the App. You may sign in using Apple, Google, or phone number verification. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You must provide accurate information and be at least 18 years old to create an account.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post (listings, images, descriptions). By posting, you grant DesiSphere a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the App. You are solely responsible for ensuring your content is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe on third-party rights.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
- Spam, scrape, or use automated tools to access the App
- Attempt to manipulate likes, reports, or other metrics
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Circumvent security features or access restrictions
6. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to remove or hide any content that violates these terms. Listings that receive multiple community reports may be automatically hidden from feeds. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies, without prior notice.
7. Disclaimers
DesiSphere is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user-posted content. We are not responsible for any transactions, agreements, or interactions between users. Use your own judgment when engaging with listings or other users.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DesiSphere and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App. Deletion permanently removes your account, all your listings, likes, and associated data. This action cannot be undone.
10. Intellectual Property
The DesiSphere name, logo, and app design are the property of DesiSphere. You may not use our branding without written permission. All third-party trademarks referenced in the App belong to their respective owners.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
